Dear Cecilia,

Greetings! I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I am currently in my senior year at Eugene Lang: The New School for Liberal Arts seeking a degree in The Arts with a concentration in Theater. The most exciting part of being a senior is producing a senior work in which myself and my fellow colleagues are collaborating on a new production of Tennessee Williams Camino Real. I have sent you this in hopes that you will be able to financially contribute to our work.

Working steadily closer to completing my degree here in New York City I have found new reasons why theater is important in today’s society, especially theater that brings our current social consciousness to light and bring these situations to public eye. Camino Real takes place in the fictional world of dreams that we trap ourselves in and cannot escape from; much like the pretend worlds we can place ourselves in everyday. My hope is that through this production we can awaken the audience to living in the moment, and break free of the traps that might be holding them back.

I do hope you will consider making a donation to our production. Even the smallest amount is greatly appreciated in this economical time. While we are working with incredibly knowledgeable faculty we simply do not have the financial resources needed. A contribution would make our visions for this piece truly come to life on stage.

On behalf of all of the seniors working on Camino Real, thank you!

Trine Boode-Petersen
